  1. AIA + ARCHITECT
    Level 3, Booth 1739
    We’re hosting 14 hours of continuous live programming in the AIA booth this year, in partnership with ARCHITECT Magazine. Stop by for authoritative interviews, panels, and inspiring short talks by award-winning architects, critics, and more. While you’re there immerse yourself in a gallery showcasing award-winning projects recognized in 2018 and plan to attend a special AIA member reception.     Designing a New Future
    Celebrate Whitney M. Young Jr. Award recipients who tirelessly advocate for social issues at this special exhibit hosted by the Architects Foundation. Other events will feature current and past scholarship recipients and Foundation supporters.

    Waste No More

    DesignWork is EILEEN FISHER’s newest initiative that works toward a zero-waste future for the garment industry. Stop by the booth to see how makers turn used garments and scraps into one-of-a-kind wall hangings, upholstery, and accessories for interiors, hospitality, and public spaces.

    How It’s Made

    This 100% curated exhibit by Archello showcases some of the world’s newest and most innovative materials. Explore your way through the exhibit, which also includes reference images that depict imaginative architectural applications.
  3. Tech Start-up Showcase
    Level 3, Booth 2458
    Want to know what the future holds for design and construction technology? Stop by the Tech Start-up Showcase to get a first look at apps, products, and businesses that are changing how the industry works.
  4. Trends in Interiors
    Level 3, Booth 312
    Interiors is one of seven specialty-themed pavilions—product playgrounds that let you explore what’s new and trending. The Interiors Pavilion will feature the latest in lighting, hardware, furniture, flooring, and paint, plus presentations on color forecasting by Benajmin Moore, architecturally-integrated art installations by BroCoLoco, and trends in recycled rubber flooring by Dinoflex and 400 sq. ft. of demo space.   5. Design competition installation: The Approachable City
    Level 3, Booth 2833
    Don’t miss this imaginative and unique installation on what makes cities welcoming places for people by A’18 design competition winners Uriah Bueller and Beau Burrows. Uriah’s work at Parasoleil blurs lines between public and private space by bridging architecture with nature, and Beau’s experiential design studio creates real-time generative technology, experiential artwork, and interactive experiences for galleries, private clients, and commercial entities.
  6. ACMA Composites Design Challenge
    Level 1, Booth 4516
    The American Composites Manufacturing Association’s third annual Composites Challenge asked students to come up with exciting new ways to integrate composites into innovative building structures and assemblies. See the winning designs in Booth 4516!
  7. The future of workspace
    As work becomes a bigger part of our lives, workplaces are becoming more than just offices. FutureWork, booth #1521, is a new design for co-working space by Building Design+Construction. This debut design showcases flexible collaboration spaces, health and wellness features, and other amenities that work together to create an engaging, collaborative, technology-driven, heuristic space.
  8. Specialty pavilions
    Explore specialty products in composites, sustainable materials, residential, interiors, software & technology, wood, and metal through seven dedicated pavilions across the expo floor. Stop by the pavilions to see what’s new, take in a demo, or get answers to your product or project questions.

  9. CE theaters & learning lounges
    Take a course with a leading building product manufacturer, right on the expo floor. 135 courses cover a variety of topics including paint, timber, coatings, wall systems, liquid applied membranes, and much more. These short courses are extremely popular—register early to reserve your seat.

  11. The green roof!
    The Javits Center has a 6.75-acre green roof that is home to 17 bird species, 5 bat species, and 300,000 honeybees. It helps reduce energy consumption throughout the convention center. Sign up for the free tour on the Javits Center website or register for one of three A’18 tours.
